sharing stages & mustachioed glory

We have a few shows before the holiday season sweeps down and eclipses us all with hectic merriment, and we’re very proud to be sharing the stage with several fantastic bands, new and old. It’s a rare honour to open for a band that has influenced the way we make music, and it’s happening twice in the next month! Plus we get to see some old friends, and help out with two good causes: prostate awareness and the unfortunate plight of John’s mustache.

Yep, next Thursday (Nov 29th) we’ll be on-stage at the Great Hall, which is literally a great freakin’ venue, playing as part of a benefit for Movember. Come see Papermaps, Cai.ro, Brad Fillatre, and us and our manly faces of mustachioed glory…except for John’s unfortunate French ‘stache of shame. But hey, it’s a great cause! Be sure to enter the Rockin’ Stache contest to get free tickets!

This Friday (Nov 23rd) we’ll be opening for Cuff the Duke (!!!) at the Studio at Hamilton Place along with Gavin Slate (check out the Facebook event). It is crazy awesome to be sharing a stage with C the D…I first saw them at the Horseshoe 7 years ago…zounds!

Saturday (Nov 24th) we’ll be playing at Nathan Phillips Square as part of the 100th Grey Cup celebrations in the afternoon — which is the perfect time for pigskin profundity. Then in the evening we’ll be at Lee’s Palace playing for the CD release of our good friends the Maladies of Adam Stokes. You can listen to their new album here and you really should, they did a beautiful job.

Last, but definitely not least, on Wed Dec 19th we’ll be opening for Lowest of the Low as part of The Horseshoe Tavern’s 65th anniversary party! These fine fellows were a very large influence on us as musicians, so it is crazy, eye-goggling good times to be opening for them…and at the Horseshoe…and for the 65th anniversary! This will be a sweaty, sweaty rock show.

We hope to see your sweet, beautiful faces out at any of these shows because good times are 98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.
