we love to hit the boards

We’ve had a residency at the Cameron House — every Wednesday through the month of October — and it has been a whiskey-fueled onslaught of good times, hanging out, and occasionally making music. We’ve had two special guests at each show, and it has been a truly amazing time hosting some of our good friends and favourite performers at our shows. This past show with Shawn Clarke and Graham Nicholas was a perfect blend of sensitive finger-strummed folk along with dancehall hootenanny folk. Last week with MJ Cyr and The Morals walked the tightrope from intricate looped rhythms to some intense guitar-charged roots tunes. The week before that Paula Perri and Peter Katz both electrified the crowd with their huge voices and great songs. And our first week we hosted the largest inter-band party the front room of the Cameron House had ever seen by having The Maladies of Adam Stokes and The Fires Of, each 5+ member bands in their own right, playing our inaugural residency show.

Our last residency show is on Hallowe’en, so expect some surprises! But don’t expect a cover of Monster Mash…we’re not that good yet. We’ll be joined by the Kate Rogers Band and Parks & Rec, both of whom are firecracker bands with killer songs and the ability to turn regular humans into dance-feverish singalong handclappers.

We’ll actually be hitting the boards quite a lot this fall, so if you know of anyone in Bracebridge, Orillia, Hamilton, Peterborough, Ottawa, Oshawa, North Bay, or Toronto please let them know that we’ll be in their town soon!
