hinterland who’s who: the canadian musician

For some reason every time winter rolls around I imagine watching an episode of “Hinterland Who’s Who” and hearing about the Canadian Musician — a nocturnal beast that largely spends its time in dank, cave-like areas making all sorts of yowling noises and hibernates in the winter months, storing up songs and recordings for the spring when it will leave its home for an extended period to roam the countryside visiting the pubs, clubs, and homes of the fair and beauteous Canadian Music Lover. Well that’s what is going on right now, folks! Although we have braved the elements a few times to play some very welcome house concerts and one hootenanny — and I’d like to take a moment to thank very deeply the folks that have opened their homes and hootenannies to us! The sing-alongs, the dancing, the extreme all-weather driving, it all adds up to a magical experience and we truly appreciate it.

The coming months will see us doing a lot more recording, heading to Kansas (!!!) for a folk music conference, and then hitting the highways and byways to travel east and visit friends in the Maritimes when the snow is receding and spring is beckoning. Please help spread the word, we’d love to see friendly faces, old and new, at our upcoming shows! And thanks for listening.
