summertime on the east coast

Nothing says summer like getting in a van with limited AC with several sweaty humans and making some goddamned music!  If some crimes get solved along the way, all the better.  But this band actually began with a 2009 tour to the east coast in late August, and I’ll be swobbered in the klootch-sac if we don’t seem to get a hankering to head east in the late August of each and every year.  If you’ve never visited Atlantic Canada you are missing out on some of the friendliest folks on the planet.  We have always enjoyed an extreme level of hospitality and we are looking forward to going back!  Feel free to join us at any of our shows, but more importantly just head east, watch the sunrise, dance to your heart’s content, dine on a big slice of Canada’s history, and practice a wide variety of wonderful accents.  We look forward to seeing you out there!

ARTIST OF THE WEEK.  Shawn Clarke.  When New Years rolls around my resolution list generally looks like this: 1. don’t make any resolutions, 2. start jogging.  Then I realize that #2 breaks #1 and so I’m allowed to never jog, which is good because I don’t like it.  Shawn Clarke went a different way.  He got a ukulele for Christmas, and then for New Years made the resolution to learn and record a new song each week on ukulele.  Sound crazy?  Well the results are quite impressive, in my opinion, and although I won’t jog I am still impressed by Shawn’s musicianship and his ability to stick to his guns.  Listen to his original music, as well, because it’s what the kids call: “quite boss”.
